A few Moments with Ms Amanda Berry
So what is it about the supernatural that lights your fire?
The ability to make the impossible possible. All romance needs conflict, but a paranormal romance ups the stakes. I've always been fascinated by all things paranormal. The fantasy aspect of it gives me endless possibilities for characters, worlds, and what the characters must overcome to have their happily ever after.
What's your poison, Vamp, Were, Zombie?
Of those three, definitely vampire.
What makes them sexy?
The very nature of a vampire is seduction. I love the old vampire stories, though I read and enjoy the newer takes on the vampire mythology. I have to admit I have a very soft spot for Gary Oldman's characterization of a young Dracula. I'm not crazy about the vampires that are mindless killers. There has to be a vulnerability, and I'm not talking about holy water and garlic. Dracula's vulnerability was his love for Mina. It just depends on whether the vampire is the hero or the villian, but either way, he has to have that seductive quality and be vulnerable to something besides a wooden stake to the chest.
Have you ever had a Supernatural experience?
I've had feelings before, that spooked out feeling. There's a huge sculpture I refuse to go near. I can't explain it. My heart clenches in fear every time I see it. I also rely on a sort of sixth sense that keeps me out of trouble. Whether it's something supernatural or just common sense, I still listen to it. I'd love to experience something supernatural, but in the same breath, I'd completely freak out if something supernatural happened to me.
What is your secret guilty pleasure? I adore Winnie the Pooh. Your turn.
I'd say chocolate, but that seems like cheating. :) Books. Don't laugh because it's a serious problem. I compulsively buy books. Research books, how to books, romance books. I can't just borrow them. I want to own them. Fortunately my stash is still rather small, but there will come a day when I need a library for the books I want to own.
